Sex Work in Qld

Brothels

Brothels are licensed by the Prostitution Licensing Authority.  Brothels are not allowed to advertise for sex workers.  There are currently 24 Licensed Brothels in QLD, a list of which can be found on the Brothels page of the Prostitution Licensing Authority's website. Licensed Brothels are required to have induction programs for new staff and more in depth induction programs for people who have not previously worked as sex workers.  Sex workers require a current sexual health certificate, which must be obtained every 3 months.  A great resource for sex workers is SQWISI.

Escort Agencies

Escort agencies cannot provide escort services in Qld (i.e. it's illegal), even if they are operated from interstate of overseas.

Escorts

If you choose to work as a sole operator you may provide escort services.  Sole operators may only involve a licensed crowd controller in their business, they may not wok with other sex workers, receptionists, drivers or anyone else.

Massage Palours

It is illegal to advertise that you provide massage if you perform any sort of sexual services, eg. hand relief. 

Sole operators

A sole operator may provide sexual services from their home, unit or hotel room.  They may also provide outcall or escort services. The only other person who can be involved in the business is a licensed crowd controller or security guard. A sole operator may not employ receptionists, drivers, cleaners or anyone else.

Soliciting or streetwalking

All are very illegal in Qld.
